Personal Pension Plans & SERPS (State Earnings Related Pension Scheme) contributionsIf you have previously taken out a personal pension plan to provide an additional income on retirement it is imperative that you read the following information, as you could well be one of 5 million people who are facing up to a 60% shortfall in their pension funds. The vast majority of UK citizens are paying contributions to a personal pension plan or making additional pension contributions through National Insurance payments. Many of these personal pension policies commenced in the late eighties to take contributions from the governments earnings related pension scheme, known as SERPS.

The policies were provided following new legislation from the government which enabled UK citizens to determine which pension policy their National Insurance contributions would be paid into. Many people received advice to take out a new policy for their SERPS contributions in order to receive a much healthier pension fund upon retirement. It was widely regarded that a new pension scheme would provide a far superior return, and opting out of the State Earnings Related Pension Scheme was a wise decision. However many people were incorrectly advised to do so, and were not made aware of the risks involved. There is a high probability that if you contracted out of SERPS you will be worse off, and that you are the victim of a mis-sold policy. Please complete our Pension Claims 30 Second Test to determine whether or not you have been affected and if you have a case for a compensation claim, and claim back SERPS. We also claim back bank charges, payment protection insurance premiums and life insurance premiums. |
